Hello, I’m Natasha
It is a pleasure to meet you. I envision a future where compassionate people heal themselves and our world by adopting a plant centered lifestyle.
It is important to me that you know that I am a real person with challenges, hopes, and dreams. I am as down to earth as they come. I live in the Northwoods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula in a late 1800s log cabin that I am refurbishing with the help of my extended family. I garden, stack wood, cook, clean, grocery shop, laugh, love, cry, and spend time with family just like most of you. You are just as likely to catch me in my coveralls and work gloves as you are to find me spiffed up in front of a crowd of community members inspiring them to go plant centered.
What you see is what you get. I am a change maker—someone who sees what needs to be done and does it. I make things happen! I inspire and nurture growth in people, organizations, and communities. I was born with the drive to make the world a better place and have been educating, motivating, and providing leadership ever since. I am incredibly passionate, intuitive, and hardworking. I care-deeply! I have a humanist approach to life that values simplicity and rewards goodness. I believe in the power of people to change themselves and the world.
I experienced health challenges in my early 20s that led me to a plant centered diet. That plant centered diet turned into a plant centered lifestyle—the core of who I am. My plant centered lifestyle energized me so much about food that I purchased and managed an organic farm. I wanted to grow my own food and food for others. During those years of cooking for the farm crew, I fell in love with feeding people good, healthy, plant centered meals. I put that love into opening a highly successful food truck to bring good, healthy, plant centered meals to more people. From there I went on to become a food educator, farmer advocate, agriculture policy activist and one of several founders of a group called Northern Vegans.
My formal education in Social Work came from my desire to help people who were struggling to find their strengths. I have learned that not everyone who wants to make changes in their life has the time, energy, and support to get started and stay motivated. This is why I started Plant Centered Living. I want to put my knowledge, experience, and energy to work for you when you need it most. Having practiced plant centered living for the past 30+ years and receiving a Plant Based Nutrition Certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, I am uniquely positioned to guide your plant centered journey. I have a solid understanding of food and people’s connections with food.
Every day, I get to help people become happier, healthier versions of themselves while simultaneously introducing a plant centered lifestyle to groups, both large and small, through my keynotes and consulting as well as my full-time role as Executive Director for the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies. If you are looking for a down-to-earth, candid, sincere motivator and guide, I welcome the opportunity to partner with you. Let’s work together to make a difference, reach a goal, and create the new reality you seek. I am eager to hear your story.
Be Well,
Natasha
What People Are Saying…
“Natasha is my inspiration, mentor and honestly, the heart of my plant-centered journey. She has been there every step of the way, offering helpful advice, support, recipes, and heartfelt conversations without judgment or hesitation. Natasha is the key to my plant-centered lifestyle success.”
—Carmon Mae, United States
“Working with Natasha has been a great help for me. When I first decided to go plant based I had no idea where to start because I was coming from eating burgers and fast food every day. Natasha has been a great help from the beginning transition as I've progressed to more a healthy way of life.”
—Brad, United States
“When participating in the monthly vegan cookouts that Natasha organizes, I felt for the first time that it was ok to ask questions regarding veganism while still being a meat-eater. Through following Plant Centered Living, I have learned about delicious vegan recipes, heard from people of all walks of life making the transition to a plant-centered lifestyle, and found out more about the food science behind it all. The way my husband and I eat are gradually moving to a more WFPB [whole foods plant based] lifestyle. Thanks, Natasha

“Natasha has taught me how to cook oil free and has given me many suggestions of great meals to make. She has taught me it is okay if you slip up. You just get back up the next day and start over. The most important thing that I found helpful was how to deal with family that don’t understand your way of eating because people are afraid of change and that is okay the more you make new dishes for them the more they come around.”
